Recent implementations have reduced drafting and production workloads by as much as 80–90% by identifying repeatable workflows, standardising them, and building automation around the way firms already operate.

The goal isn't to replace engineers.

The goal is to remove the bottlenecks that stop engineers from doing their best work.

For years, engineering firms have been told the answer to growth is simple: hire more people.

But after spending years inside engineering drafting environments, I kept seeing the same problem.

Firms weren't running out of work.

They were running into bottlenecks.

Projects slowed down. Senior engineers became reviewers instead of designers. New staff took months to become productive. And despite strong demand, many firms found themselves stuck at the same delivery capacity year after year.

At the same time, AI arrived.

Everyone was talking about it. Everyone was experimenting with it. And most engineering leaders were left wondering what was real, what was hype, and what could actually be trusted inside a production environment.

What stood out to me was that drafting was one of the few areas inside engineering delivery that could be measured clearly.

Unlike engineering design, where various forms of automation already existed, drafting remained heavily dependent on manual workflows, tribal knowledge, and inconsistent standards. Where automation did exist, it was often locked behind expensive software or rigid template systems that rarely reflected how firms actually worked.

So, I started experimenting.

Not with AI alone, but with the combination of drafting standards, structured workflows, automation, and Agentic AI.

What began as curiosity turned into an 18-months (& counting) journey.

I spent countless hours building, testing, refining, and documenting systems that could reliably automate drafting workflows without sacrificing control, consistency, or engineering oversight.

Along the way, I started sharing what I was learning through my YouTube channel.

Something interesting happened.

Engineers, CAD managers, drafters, and firm owners started reaching out.

The conversations were remarkably similar. Different disciplines. Different project types. Different countries.

But the same underlying challenges.

Inconsistent standards. Limited capacity. Too much time spent on repetitive drafting work. Too much reliance on a handful of key people.

That was the moment I realised this wasn't just a problem I was interested in solving.

It was a problem engineering firms everywhere were actively struggling with.

That's when I decided to go all in.

The result became the SET Framework™.

Because reliable automation isn't created by AI alone.

It's created when standards, systems, and tools work together as a single production environment.

Unlike traditional automation consultants, I come from an engineering drafting background first. I've spent more than eight years working directly inside AutoCAD across structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and industrial projects. That experience allows me to bridge two worlds that rarely meet successfully: engineering production and software automation.
